Waiting Lists

Sadly waiting lists for knee surgery are now very long, and in many cases up to or even over two years after having been seen in clinic and listed for surgery.

We understand how difficult this is for our patients. In response to this problem, the Exeter Nightingale Hospital has been converted into an elective orthoapedic centre (SWAOC). You may be offered surgery here. We are aiming to mobilise patients quickly using modern anesthetic and pain management techniques and you may even achieve discharge after knee replacement on the same day!

Further information on the Nightingale Hospital can be found at https://nightingale-exeter.nhs.uk/

Other patients are also being offered to surgery in other areas of the country where waiting lists are not so long. Please speak to your GP or surgeon about this if this is something you are considering.

Should you be struggling  with your symptoms, please get in touch with your Consultant's secretary or GP. There are excellent websites that can be found on the 'Patient Information' link above in this website.
